Stunning location, and beautiful hotel
My room was very nice and the views out over the lake spectacular. It is a very beautiful hotel, I stayed in the main building, with a great layout and cosy areas to sit in when you’re relaxing and gave nothing to do. The setting and surrounding area is stunning, and the buildings are beautiful.
The service is average. Staff are lacking charm and take their time, with the odd exception.

What was the highlight of Hotel Koldingfjord
Top notch, way exceeded expectation
Well.. a nice surprise. A few years ago, a colleague stayed a few times and did not rate the place. Not sure if it's changed ownership, but it's a beautiful, quirky building, very nicely restored in a mid century kind of way. I was in a room in the 700s which are on the hillside through a James Bond villain tunnel and lift. Nicely appointed room, well done bathroom all super clean. And an actual minibar. With things in it. Proper cups for coffee, not paper. A former colleague joined for dinner in the Cafe, with well presented food and good service, the downstairs bar is really a hidden gem too. All in all, way exceeded my expectations and thoroughly recommend it.
The bed's comfortable but the super size foam pillows are not great for the neck....ended up using a rolled up duvet! A minor point, if you had a pillow menu, it would be awesome
